Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes
My children and I are taking part in RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes because we’ve seen first-hand the difference Great Ormond Street Hospital can make to children and their families. I know children who are receiving care and support there, and who are able to have a better quality of life because of the specialist help they receive.
As a mum of two, I know how difficult and worrying it can be when your child is unwell and you need support. I can only imagine what families going through serious illness must face, and how important it is to have somewhere like GOSH providing specialist care, treatment and support.
We have decided to take part in this challenge to show our support and help raise money for the amazing work they do. Every donation, big or small, can make a difference to children and families who really need it.

I’m joining the race to help beat childhood cancer by taking part in RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
