I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

Good afternoon, reader. My name is Bobby, Bobby Gotelee to be exact. I am a Great Ormond Street Fundraising 'Super-Champion' from the South-East of the UK.
I decided to take part in Race For The Kids last year and I thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of the challenge! So, I wanted to take part again this year. This time, I'm hoping to improve my time of 1 hour, 3 minutes - it should be said, when it comes to walking I'm quite competitive.
However, we shall see on the day! I'll see you all at the start line!

An Epilogue High

Good evening, everyone! Bobby here! How are you all, this evening? Hope you're all keeping well?

And so, it is done! Another year's race in a day is done and dusted! And we've even hit an epilogue high, if you'll notate the title (and it's an even higher high, than last year) - £280 raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and this is the perfect time to thank every one of you. From those who have donated, spread the word and shared wise words, wisdom and encouragement. This is definitely a great way to end this year, and I'm in your deepest and sincerest debt!

If you're reading this post-event and haven't donated yet, and would like to do so, the lines are still open for the weekend, in which you can follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page!

As far as the event is concerned, I actually improved my overall time, by about 10 minutes! And so, to get that result creates an elusive feeling of success and triumph.  I'm pretty sure I overtook an estimated 1,000 people, whilst on this walk. No doubt my legs were tired, as I was pumping all of my energy after a small breakfast. I think, however, those would be the best words to describe it - tired but triumphant!

And so, that wraps up this year's Race For The Kids. And I want to say "well done", to everyone who participated this year. Fingers crossed, I can make it back next year - do the old hat trick, if you will! And so, I shall bid you all a fond farewell! But do keep your eyes for me, as I'm sure there will be plenty of these races and events to come in the future!
Take care, and have a good night!

A Pre-Event Update On The Day Before The Event, Itself

Good evening, everyone! It's Bobby here! How are you all doing? I hope you're keeping well?
So, as I am sitting in a hotel room, writing this post, I wanted to share with you all something, I've been working on for the past month, to which you may see if you catch me at the right time!

Up above is a custom designed Great Ormond Street Hospital Sports Jersey, which I have created, thanks to Ninjersey (an Italian Competitive Sports & E-Sports Jersey customisation and creation website, to which you can create your own jerseys for any sports or gaming team, event, competition etc.).

This project was in the works from mid-September, and luckily I managed to catch the post, earlier on today, to which this beautiful jersey arrived (right before I headed out to catch the train to London, no less).

As you may know, I'll be in the Premier Inn gazebo before, during and after the event. And, if you're lucky, you may well get to see this in some form of small, uprising action.
If you're ever down that way, don't be afraid to say "hello".

What's happening, otherwise though? Well, I'm aiming to start my 5k walk tomorrow, at Hyde Park, London, for Race For The Kids. You might spot me, on the way. So, again, don't be afraid to say "hello" to me, and we can chat before, during or after the race.

Thank you to everyone, who has donated to the cause, thus far. For those who haven't yet, and would like to do so, feel free to follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page. And if you'd like to spread the word, feel free to share this page far and wide. As always, with any and every GOSH event I do, have done and will do, any support is greatly appreciated.

Otherwise, I shall look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! Take care and have a good night!

Only A Few Days Away!

Good afternoon, everyone! Bobby here, and welcome back to another update. And so, we're only a few days away before I head on up to London, to go to the event.

As always, much like with every other fundraising endeavour I've done for Great Ormond Street, I'm excited. But I'm also a little nervous this time around, as some things may change by the time I get there. However, I'm sure there will be lots of fun to be had that day!

I'll try to post updates on the day, as to what's happening! But if you're seeing this post and haven't donated yet, and would like to, feel free to follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page. And, as always, you can spread the word as well, if you wish, by sharing the page far and wide!

Otherwise, I'll hope to catch up with you very soon! Take care everyone, and remember as always - "No matter what your goal may be, perhaps the road to it can be found in the very thing in which you're now engaged". Have a good day!

The Task Of Preparation

Good afternoon, everyone! Bobby here! Welcome back to another post, by yours truly!
So, yes, the task of preparation is underway. However, seeing as I have my T-Shirt from last year, all I need is a new number plate, so to speak! And so here it is, in the image above - 11320 with the name Bobby, as always! Seeing as I'm with a specific crew, known as the 'Premier Inn Crew', that's where I'll be hanging out for the most part! If any of you are there, feel free to say "hi!"

A heads up for the fundraising target - I'm going to settle it/leave it at the base target, but if we do reach beyond that point then it'll be a marvel! With the amount of GOSH Fundraising I've done this year, I'd personally like to settle it on a calm note. Calm but, hopefully, victorious!

If you're reading this post and haven't donated yet, and would like to, feel free to check the right hand side of the page, where you can donate a base amount (or even any amount you'd like to, for that matter). You can also spread the word as well, if you wish, by sharing the page far and wide. Moreover, I'll be doing the same at the beginning of October. But, if you'd like to, you can share it a few days early.

Otherwise, here's to the 11th of October. Good luck everyone!

Welcome Back, Bobby!

Good afternoon, everyone! Bobby here! How are you all doing? Hope you're all keeping well?

Well, it's official! After much deliberation, I have decided to take part in Race For The Kids, once more. After the thrill of last year's event, I thoroughly enjoyed it, that I decided to go for it again.

As a Great Ormond Street Hopsital Fundraising 'Super-Champion', and as an avid walker/walk-a-holic, this feels like a perfect opportunity for me to get out there and show everyone what I'm made of!

Much like last year, I'll be taking part in the 5k route. However, I'm going to try to aim for a better time - 1 hour and 3 minutes is the time to beat!

If you'd like to donate and support my cause, feel free to follow the instructions on the right hand side of the page. You can even spread the word as well, if you wish, by sharing the news far and wide, so to speak!

Otherwise, I'll hope to see you at the start line!

RBC Race for the Kids 2025

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
