I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s virtual fun run challenge, RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

GOSH is amazing & life saving

GOSH saved Madeline’s life ❤️

Madeline battled sepsis/toxic shock in PICU of Great Ormond Street hospital in January 2026 for 8 long days, we will be eternally grateful. Madeline won that battle and every morning, afternoon and evening when getting some fresh air, we saw the cancer unit being built and after seeing so many other families throughout the hospital battling various illnesses. We’d love to raise money to help this amazing hospital. Without GOSH we may not have our Madeline.

James and I lived in the onsite accommodation for Madeline’s stay. She didn’t leave ICU until she was transferred back to our regional hospital. James and I often looked at the cancer unit being built, the playground within GOSH, the art and everything that makes an hospital less scary for children on the darkest days and thought how amazing it is they do, everything they do.

Madeline and James will be on scooters for the full 5 k, Charly will walk (with Margaux ) ❤️

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
