I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

We’re doing it again! But this time we’re doing 5K! Me, Alice and Maddison want to raise more than we did last time for children suffering with cancer, in honour of our beautiful Spencer. Spencer is a GOSH child but tragically passed from stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma in December 2024. We hope to raise as much as we can for all of the families that will benefit from the new cancer centre that GOSH are building!
We will be taking along Spencer’s wagon, which I imagine Alice and Maddison will take breaks in as we make our way through. Spencer absolutely loved his wagon and spent so much time in it when attending hospital appointments, hospital stays, days out and even just to chill in at home. In October 2024 Spencer stopped walking and we relied on the wagon a great deal, until he wanted to be carried all of the time. It will be a huge honour for me and the girls to take his wagon with us, along with a few of his favourite things.

RBC Race for the Kids 2025

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
