Our Group/Family
I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
At the start of this year, our best friends experienced every parent's worst nightmare. Their 10-year-old son, Harrison, was suddenly rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) with a rare AVM (bleed on the brain). Doctors managed to stabilise him, but just weeks later he faced major brain surgery to remove the AVM (arteriovenous malformation).
As parents ourselves, we can’t begin to imagine the fear, pain, and helplessness they all endured. But thanks to the extraordinary care and expertise of the team at GOSH, Harrison underwent a 10-hour operation, and thankfully, it was a success! His recovery amazed everyone, including his surgeons. Just one week later, he was back home, continuing to defy expectations.
All of this would not have been possible without the incredible team at GOSH. They didn’t just care for Harrison—they supported the entire family. From accommodation just across the road, to play therapists, to dog therapy. They offered compassion, comfort, and care when it was needed most.
To give back, myself and my eldest son Jackson (age 6) will be joining Harrison and his family for GOSH’s Race for the Kids 5K in Hyde Park on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
We’re running to say thank you and to help ensure more children like Harrison get the care they need, when they need it most.
Please donate if you can – the money raised will go towards helping to build a new world-leading children cancer centre at GOSH – this will mean better facilities, kinder treatments, and bigger breakthroughs! Every penny counts!
Thank you so much!

RBC Race for the Kids 2025
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
