I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s virtual fun run challenge, RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids: Home Heroes

I'm supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital because the impact goes far beyond medicine. Every donation helps provide care, comfort and hope to children and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances. If my challenge can make even a small difference, it's well worth it!

Challenge Completed!

Set out at 7am, made it through the woods to Dunstable Downs just in time for sunrise, no rabid badgers or angry foxes encountered, just a lot of squirrels and a lovely big group of crows on the downs. Quick walk across the top of the downs then back through the woods to home, 5.99k in total and some hefty blisters. Now for a well deserved cup of coffee!

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
