Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
I was born with congenital hydrocephalus, just like my brother Ibrahim-Hanif. A few days after I was born I was transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital and had an operation where they fitted my shunt fitted. Now I am 16 and super grateful for this incredible hospital and all of it's staff. It is a place where I have been very well taken care of and this is a great opportunity for me to help other children and young people. I am fundraising for the new childhood cancer centre at GOSH to help children and young people who are going through it. I want to play a part in helping towards this life saving cancer centre! If you and I are going to do it for anyone, let's do it for GOSH!!
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
