We’re joining the 5k race to help beat childhood cancer
On 10th October, our family — myself, my husband and our three children, Kieren, Mia and Raeya — will be taking part in GOSH 5k Race for the Kids 2026.
This race is particularly special to our family because Great Ormond Street Hospital holds a very special place in our hearts.
My sister, Tiana, was the bravest person I have ever known. She lived with cystic fibrosis, and throughout her journey, GOSH played a huge part in supporting Tiana and our family. The care, compassion and dedication of the incredible staff gave us precious time, memories and moments that we will treasure forever.
Tiana was the light of our family — full of courage, love and laughter. Even on her hardest days, she showed a strength beyond her years. She was, and always will be, a true fighter. 💜
Although we are taking on this challenge together as a family, we will be running with Tiana in our hearts. We want to honour her memory and give something back to the hospital that cared for her and our family with so much kindness.
GOSH already cares for children facing some of the hardest-to-treat cancers, and groundbreaking new treatments are giving children and their families hope. But these advances have outgrown the hospital's current cancer facilities.
GOSH needs a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research — a place where more children can receive the care they need, while still being able to experience the things that make childhood special: a school, a playground, a garden and somewhere that feels like more than just a hospital.
Cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood.
So, on 10th October, every step we take will be for the children who need GOSH, for the families who stand beside them, and in memory of our beautiful Tiana. 🕊️💜
