Tiny Legs, Big Mission: Olivia's First Race for GOSH!!
This October our newly turned three-year-old is taking on a very important mission- HER FIRST EVER RACE!
Olivia will be aiming to complete 2K for Great Ormond Street Hospital, with mama and daddy right beside her every step of the way.
For little legs 2K is a pretty big adventure-although for those who know Olivia well, know the real challenge is actually keeping her still.
We wanted her first race to be about more than simply reaching a finish line. We want her to grow up knowing that even when you're little, you can do something that makes a BIG difference to others.
And this is a pretty special first race to do that.
The money we raise will help GOSH build its new world leading Children's Cancer Centre, creating better facilities, kinder treatments and hopefully even bigger breakthroughs for children with cancer.
The new centre will include access to clinical trials, a new critical care unit, new imaging technology and even a new hospital school-helping children not only receive the treatment they need, but continue being children while they're going through it.
So while Olivia runs, walk, jumps, skips, gets distracted and stops to investigate a random stone on the floor, demands a snack and possibly asks for a carry or a shoulder ride somewhere along the way, every little bit we raise will be going towards something incredibly important.
No matter how she decides it should be run or how long it takes we WILL CROSS THAT FINISH LINE TOGETHER!! Of that we have no doubt..
This will be Olivia's first medal, for her very first race, and I cant think of a more wonderful and worthy reason for her to earn it.
