Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
As a children’s nurse, I’ve seen the strength and courage of children and families facing serious illness. I’m taking part in this race for Great Ormond Street Hospital to show my support for the children fighting cancer and the families standing beside them.
I believe we have to stick together to make a change. Every step, donation and bit of support can make a difference and help give children the care, hope and brighter future they deserve. ❤️
Terry-Ann’s reason ❤️
I’m taking part in the Race for Kids Cancer this October for the people who have inspired me, the people who are fighting, and the people who should never have had to. 🩷
I’m doing this alongside my little sister Bethany and my daughter Skye — the two most special girls in my life. If it wasn’t for my sister and her huge heart and passion for helping children, I honestly don’t think I’d ever have signed up for something like this. She’s studying to become a child practitioner because she wants to make a difference in children’s lives, and watching her chase that dream has inspired me more than she probably realises.
And doing this alongside Skye means everything to me too. I want her to grow up knowing that helping others, showing up for people and having a kind heart really matters. I hope this experience stays with her as she grows and inspires her in whatever passions she chooses to follow. More than anything, I want to teach her that humanity is about looking beyond yourself and using what you can — even if it’s just your two feet and a whole lot of determination — to make someone else’s world a little better. 🥹🩷
So this one is for them. For Skye. For the little ones who deserve a future full of memories, not hospital appointments. For the mums who would do absolutely anything to take their child’s pain away.
I’m also running for my friend’s mum, who is currently battling stage 4 cancer. Her strength, and the strength of everyone facing cancer, is something I’ll carry with me every step of this run.
I’m so proud that I get to do this surrounded by the women in my bloodline. Three generations, one cause, and so much love. 🩷
Cancer has touched far too many families, and if putting one foot in front of the other can help even one child, one mum or one family, then I’ll be there.
Here’s to running with love, raising as much as we can, creating memories with the people I love, and teaching the next generation that kindness and humanity will always matter.
Now let’s go kick cancer’s ass. 🎗️🏃♀️🩷
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.

so proud of what your doing & im supporting you all the way! 🇯🇲❤️
