I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

Last summer, our son, Brandon, was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare childhood eye cancer. It is a moment no parent can ever prepare for. At just 1years old, Brandon bravely had surgery to remove his eye, and it was replaced with a prosthetic. Followed after with chemotherapy on Safari Ward at GOSH and now thankfully is in remission!
It was the hardest time of our lives, but thankfully we were never alone. From the moment we arrived at Great Ormond Street Hospital, the incredible team on the Safari Ward went above and beyond to make his time there- as fun, gentle, and comforting as possible for Brandon. In a situation that felt so overwhelming, seeing the same familiar, smiling faces every visit gave us a sense of safety and calm. Their warmth and endless support kept us going when we needed it most.
Brandon is our little hero, and the Safari Ward team are ours. We are raising money for GOSH to say a massive thank you from ourselves and Brandon, and to ensure that other families facing the unimaginable can receive the same care that we did.
Every single penny raised will go toward supporting this miraculous hospital and the wonderful staff who give so much to the children in their care.
Thank you so much for your support,
The Raviraj Family

RBC Race for the Kids 2026

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
