Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
Hannah and I are taking part in the 5K Race for the Kids because we both feel very strongly about helping children who are seriously ill.
As a mum, it is difficult to imagine anything more frightening than having a child who is unwell, and Hannah feels very lucky to be healthy and able to do things like this with me. We wanted to use that good fortune to do something that might help another child.
We love the work that Great Ormond Street Hospital does and want to help make sure that children who are sick can receive the very best treatment, care and support possible, while also supporting the families who are going through such incredibly difficult times.
For Hannah, it is also about learning that even when you are only 10, you can still do something that makes a difference. Every donation, however small, becomes part of something much bigger.
So we’ll be walking our 5K together — mother and daughter — and every step will be for the children and families who need GOSH.
If you would like to support us, we would be incredibly grateful.
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
