I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

This year, Mike, Amelia and myself will all be running in the GOSH Race for the Kids on Saturday 11th October 2025 in memory of Ava.
Ava would be turning 3 years old on 10th October and so we will be running for her and for all the babies who never made it home, whilst aiming to raise as many vital funds as possible for a worthwhile charity. All proceeds from this years race are going towards building a new Children's Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)
As well as living with the heartbreak of forever missing Ava, most of you reading this will be aware that cancer also impacted our lives this year when I myself was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. It was yet another stark reminder that life really is short and so you have to go out there and live it to the fullest whilst you can. Now, thankfully recovered and healthy post surgery, it feels fitting to be continuing our fundraising in Ava's name this time around running for a charity that aids children and their families affected by cancer.
Back in 2022 as I was saying goodbye to her at 5 days old, I promised Ava that we as a family would do as much good as possible in her name, that she would live on through us whilst creating a positive impact on the world. I feel this is a fitting way of doing that and making her proud, especially given Amelia is extremely excited in being able to take part in the fundraising with us this year.
No donation is too big or too small, particularly as all donations will be matched by my employer Paramount up to £1000 so please give what you can - it will really help make a difference to those in need.
All for Ava x

RBC Race for the Kids 2025

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
