8 years ago, just months after Aven was born, we received life-changing news. Aven had been diagnosed with craniosynostosis, a condition where the bones in a baby's skull fuse together too early, restricting brain growth and requiring urgent surgery. At just a few months old, our tiny boy was in the hands of the incredible surgeons at GOSH. The surgery was a success. That little baby is now a brave, thriving 8 year old and on Saturday 10th October at Hyde Park, he'll be lacing up his trainers and walking the Race for Kids 2K to say thank you. This is Aven's first ever fundraising event for GOSH and it was entirely his idea. As a patient himself, someone who has lived through diagnosis, surgery, and years of care, he understands better than most just how special this hospital is. GOSH doesn't just treat children, it transforms lives. It transformed ours. If you can spare anything at all, every penny goes straight back to the hospital that gave Aven his future.
