Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
For more than a decade, our family has been incredibly proud to advocate for and support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. It is a place and a cause that has come to mean a great deal to us.
Over those years, we have seen something very special at GOSH: an extraordinary community of clinicians, researchers, fundraisers, volunteers and supporters, all united by the belief that every child deserves the very best chance, and every family the very best care.
This year feels particularly special because Kasper and Paloma are beginning their own little fundraising journey.
On 10 October, they will be taking on their first ever 2k for RBC Race for the Kids. There may be some little legs, plenty of encouragement and quite possibly a bit of carrying along the way, but we couldn’t be more excited for them to take their first steps in supporting a cause our family has cared about for so long.
Roald Dahl wrote, “Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” Over the past decade, we have found a great deal of magic at GOSH. It feels rather wonderful to begin passing that magic on to the next generation.
We would be so grateful for anything you can give to cheer Kasper and Paloma on and help support the remarkable children and families of GOSH.
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
