I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

As many of you know at the start of this year my family’s world was turned upside down after Harrison (10 years old) was rushed to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) with a bleed on the brain.
GOSH saved his life in January but it was only the start as he had to recover physically and mentally to then be told brain surgery would be required within a few months to prevent it happening again.
Thank you to the extraordinary GOSH team , Harrison underwent 10-hour brain surgery at the end of March and has gone on to make a remarkable recovery with the word CURED being used.
I have cried every day but now these are happy tears and there is simply not enough words to thank GOSH for saving his life but we are now part of the family and will do anything they ask.
As a small thank you we will be taking part as a family in the RACE FOR KIDS 5K in Hyde Park on the 11th October 2025.
We are raising money to help GOSH build a new world-leading children’s cancer centre – giving more children access to kinder treatments, better facilities, and life-saving breakthroughs.
I know how hard times are for everyone right now, but if you are able to donate a small amount this would mean so much. Every donation makes a difference.

RBC Race for the Kids 2025

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
