Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
We are rasing money for GOSH in memory of our angel Chey-Anne, who passed away at Great ormond street hospital on 5th November 2008.
Chey-Anne had pulmonary hypertension, a serious lung condition which was due to being born prematurely at 26 weeks gestation. Her premature birth was brought on by me developing severe pre-eclampsia in pregnancy, which meant she had to be delivered so early to save both of our lives.
Chey-Anne was a fighter and despite being extremely premature and her serious lung condition, which damaged the right side of her heart, she lived until she was 22 months old.
Great Ormond street hospital is where Chey-Anne passed away, they took great care of her and provided all her treatment. We will always be grateful for everything they did for her.
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
