I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
Woody was diagnosed with a Vascular Ring just after his 20 Week Scan at Great Ormond St. Hospital. From that moment onwards we endured a rollercoaster of emotions, unsure of what his life would be like with a congenital heart disease.
The Vascular ring caused breathing issues and Woody would choke on food nearly every meal time, due to the ring restricting his trachea & oesophagus.
On his 1st birthday, GOSH along with Becky and I, made the call to schedule open heart surgery in July 2023.
The care we received before, during and after that period was so mind-blowing it makes us tear up every time we think about it.
Woody's surgery was a resounding success and he hasn't stopped eating mountains of food since!
GOSH will always hold a special place in our heart (no pun intended!!) and we will always strive to raise money for the incredible place it is!
RBC Race for the Kids 2025
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
