Ayanna’s 5K Challenge for Great Ormond Street Hospital 💗**

Over the summer, Ayanna (8) has really surprised me with how determined she’s become to challenge herself and see how far she could go.

What started as our usual mummy and daughter walks gradually turned into little challenges for her - trying to go a bit further, keep going when she was tired, and see what distance she could achieve. 

When she heard about the RBC Race for the Kids 5K in Hyde Park, raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital’s new Children’s Cancer Centre, it really touched her. She immediately wanted to take part and felt that it was something she could do to help other children.

For Ayanna, it’s not just about completing 5K. She’s genuinely invested in the cause and has been so excited to have a goal to work towards. I’m incredibly proud of the effort she’s already put in and of how determined she is to take on this challenge.

On 10 October, we’ll be taking on the 5K together in Hyde Park hopefully with lots of smiles, a few tired legs and a very proud little girl at the finish line. 💗

RBC Race for the Kids 2026

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

GOSH are raising money for a brand-new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
