I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

Race for the Kids has been a very special tradition for us for the last four years.
I first started running it with my godson David. Over the years, his sister Ariana joined us too, along with my friend Olga and her two beautiful girls, Anna and Angelina. It became one of those lovely traditions we looked forward to every year — running together, having fun and, most importantly, raising money for the incredible work of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Last year was going to be a slightly different Race for the Kids for me.
I was signed up to run, even though the race happened to fall right around Juniper’s due date. Until almost the very last minute, I was genuinely thinking I might still make it to the start line on the morning of 11 October 2025!
Juniper, however, had other plans.
Being apparently as punctual as her dad, she arrived exactly on her due date, 11 October, at 2:15 in the afternoon.
And from that moment, our lives changed completely.
She has filled our family with more love, joy and happiness than we could ever have imagined. Becoming parents also made the work of organisations like Great Ormond Street Hospital feel even more precious. Knowing that there are families whose babies and children need the extraordinary care GOSH provides makes supporting this cause incredibly important to us.
So this year, we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Juniper turning ONE.
On 10 October, the day before her first birthday, we are bringing our family and friends together for Race for the Kids — running, walking, laughing and raising as much as we can for GOSH.
And because no first birthday celebration is complete without cake, afterwards we'll have a little birthday picnic with cupcakes in Hyde Park — hopefully with some October sunshine!
Instead of simply celebrating how lucky we feel to have had this wonderful first year with Juniper, we would love to use her birthday to help other children and families too.
Every donation, big or small, means so much to us.
Here’s to Juniper’s first trip around the sun, many more Race for the Kids adventures together, and helping GOSH continue its incredible work for children and their families. ❤️

RBC Race for the Kids 2026

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
