I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Last year, we lost our dad, Pran Arjan, unexpectedly. He was in hospital, and we truly believed he’d be coming home. But due to complications from an infection he caught while there, everything changed in an instant. It was sudden. It was heartbreaking. And life hasn’t felt the same since.

If you knew my dad, you knew he had the biggest personality in the room. He was funny, bold, generous, and impossible to ignore — in the best way. One of his favourite things to say, always with a cheeky grin, was:

“Do you know who I am?”

And honestly… once you met him, you never forgot.

I’m running this 5K in his memory — not just to remember the man we loved so much, but to support the incredible work done by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

GOSH provides life-changing care to seriously ill children and vital support to their families. It’s a cause close to my heart, because no one should lose a loved one too soon.

So I’m running for Dad. For Pran. For the laughter, the love, and the unforgettable presence he brought into every space.

Every step I take is for him. Every donation goes toward helping families hold on to the moments that matter most.

If you can support — thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, just sharing this means everything.

This one’s for you, Dad.

And yes — we do know who you are. 💙
