I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

GOSH is a huge part of our lives and has been since our Jackson was born almost 5 years ago.
Our superhero has come through the darkest of times, fighting back at just 3 weeks old when Sepsis threatened to take him from us. He has endured pain, multiple procedures, daily medication for the first 3 years of his life, major surgery and countless appointments. GOSH has been at his side the whole time making every step not just bearable, but in an odd way fun for him! A testament to that fact is the excitement Jackson has when he knows he is going to GOSH. He loves it!
We are so thankful that Jackson will never remember his surgery, will never remember the darkest days of Sepsis and the constant fear of losing him... that's a burden that we as parents will carry forever. It's hard to put into words what GOSH has given us as parents... security, comfort, knowledge, safety, but most important of all, it's given us our son. A fit, healthy, boisterous 4 year old.
So anything you can give to this wonderful charity would quite literally mean the world to us, because Jackson is our world.

RBC Race for the Kids 2026

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
