I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
Last year, my family and I took part in the RBC Race for the Kids 2K to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). This year, we're back—and we're going bigger with the 5K! This incredible cause remains deeply personal to our family, and we're more grateful than ever for the life-changing care GOSH provides.
A week before Christmas 2023, my son Liam woke up one morning after suffering an unexpected acute stroke during his sleep. As any parent can imagine, it was the most horrific experience we'd ever lived through. During those darkest of times, GOSH and its brilliant team became our lifeline. They provided not just world-class medical treatment—without costing us a dime—but also the support, compassion, and hope we so desperately needed. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member we encountered showed incredible dedication to not just treating Liam, but caring for our entire family.
Fast forward to today, I'm happy to share that Liam is not just coping—he's absolutely thriving! This little fighter now does jujitsu, plays football, goes swimming, plays tennis, and is an avid rock climber. He also loves reading, maths puzzles and chess. Watching him take on life with such resilience and zeal fills my heart beyond measure. The follow-up care at GOSH continues to be nothing short of incredible, ensuring Liam gets the ongoing support he needs to keep reaching new heights—literally and figuratively.
Last year we completed the 2K as a family, and this year we're taking on the 5K challenge! Every pound raised helps GOSH continue their life-saving work, fund cutting-edge research, purchase vital equipment, and support families during their most trying moments. When you donate, you're not just supporting a hospital—you're investing in hope, healing, and the extraordinary potential of every child who walks through their doors.

RBC Race for the Kids 2025
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
