Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
When our daughter was just 7 weeks old, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) became our home.
I was one of those parents sleeping in a hospital chair by the bedside, living in total uncertainty. I remember the endless questions running through my mind day and night: When will we be able to go home? When will our baby be okay? It is an agonizing reality that so many parents face every single day.
In those moments of fear and heartbreak, GOSH was our sanctuary. If there is a hospital in the world that can perform miracles and give sick children a fighting chance, it is GOSH. The care, dedication, and expertise of their staff carried us through the hardest days of our lives.
We are taking part in the RBC Race for the Kids to give back to the place that gave us hope when we needed it most. By donating, you are helping fund life-saving equipment, ground-breaking research, and vital support for families who are currently sitting in those same hospital rooms, praying for answers.

RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
