I'm joining the race to help beat childhood cancer

I’m taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity’s family festival and fun run, RBC Race for the Kids, to raise money to help build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids

Me and my incredible daughters Sophie (16) and Millie (10) are taking on this race in loving memory of my beautiful niece, Ruby who we miss so much every day
Ruby the amazing and much-loved daughter of my brother, Steven, and my incredible sister-in-law, Elle. She was a cherished granddaughter, cousin, niece, and the most precious little girl who brought so much love, happiness and light into all of our lives and to our families.
Although Ruby’s life was far too short, her courage, strength and beautiful smile, and very cheeky giggles inspired everyone who knew her. She faced more in her little life than most of us ever will, yet she continued to show us what true bravery looked like which is inspiring my girls to aim for the stars and rise above all the challenges we face. She will forever be our little hero and we are so thankful to Great Ormond Street for their amazing support.
My daughters, Sophie and Millie, and I are running this race in Ruby’s memory and to raise awareness of her condition CDG. We are doing it to celebrate her life, honour her incredible spirit, and ensure that she is never forgotten. Every step we take is for Ruby—the little girl who should still be here, laughing, playing and making us smile.
We are also running for Steven and Elle, whose strength, courage and unwavering love for Ruby throughout her journey were truly extraordinary. No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child, and we hope this race shows just how deeply Ruby was loved and how many lives she touched.
Ruby will always be part of our family. She is forever in our hearts, forever in our thoughts, and forever missed. This race is for you, our beautiful girl.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Ruby. ❤️

RBC Race for the Kids 2026

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.

We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.

Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
