Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
A few months ago, I never imagined I'd be signing up for events like this.
After losing my mum to cancer, I promised myself I wouldn't let her memory fade. Instead, I'd use it to make a difference, become healthier, and raise money for charities that change lives.
I've already completed Race for Life in my mum's memory, and now I'm taking on RBC Race for the Kids for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
The reason is simple. If the money I raise can help just one child receive the treatment they need, give one family more hope, or even help save one child's life, then every step, every ache, and every mile will have been worth it.
This journey has changed me. I've lost weight, found a new purpose, and discovered that no matter how hard life gets, we can always choose to help others.

RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
