Why I'm taking part in RBC Race for the Kids
I’m 39 years old, and over the last few months I’ve been making an effort to practise jogging and become more active. I’ve always wanted to make running a regular part of my life, but like many things, I kept putting it off. This time, I decided to give myself a real challenge and, at the same time, do something meaningful for charity.
That’s why I’m taking part in RBC Race for the Kids — and there’s an extra special reason for me to do it: my 12-year-old daughter is running in the event too! 🥰
We’re taking on this challenge together, which makes it even more exciting and meaningful for me. I want to support and encourage her, while also showing her that it’s never too late to challenge yourself, try something new and work towards a goal.
For me, this race isn’t just about completing the run. I want to use it as motivation to build discipline, consistency and determination, and hopefully turn jogging and running into a lasting healthy habit rather than something I keep postponing.
At the same time, we’ll be raising money to support a great cause and the important work it does for children and families. Knowing that our efforts can contribute to helping others makes the challenge even more worthwhile.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, would mean a lot to both of us. Your support will not only help the charity, but will also motivate us to keep training, keep improving and make it to that finish line together! ❤️
If you’re able to support us with a donation, we would be incredibly grateful. And if you can’t donate, sharing our fundraising page or simply cheering us on would mean just as much.
Two generations. One challenge. One finish line. A chance to make a difference. 🏃♀️👧💙
Thank you so much for supporting us!
RBC Race for the Kids 2026
GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and new treatments are giving hope to children and their families. But these advances have outstripped GOSH's current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for breakthrough treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children's lives. And because cancer shouldn't get to steal anyone's childhood, we need a place that's more than a hospital – a place that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Please consider sponsoring me. Together, we can build it. Together, we can help beat childhood cancer.
